Auto Accident Injury Care in San Francisco
After a collision, adrenaline, logistics, and vehicle damage can compete for attention. Your health comes first. Auto accidents can affect the neck, back, shoulders, limbs, and head, and symptoms alone may not reveal the full picture. Ocean Chiropractic Center provides non-emergency musculoskeletal evaluation and individualized conservative care when appropriate. We do not promise a result or provide legal, settlement, or insurance advice.
Symptoms are a starting point, not a diagnosis. This guide explains patterns an evaluation may consider and the changes that should not wait for a routine visit.
Symptoms may be immediate or delayed
Neck stiffness, back pain, headache, shoulder or limb soreness, reduced motion, tingling, dizziness, and fatigue can occur after a collision. A symptom appearing later does not automatically mean serious hidden damage, but a changing pattern should be reported. Headache, confusion, vision change, nausea, balance trouble, or unusual sleepiness can overlap with concussion symptoms and call for medical assessment.
Each person and event is different. Vehicle appearance, impact direction, and speed cannot by themselves diagnose an injury or predict recovery.
What to prioritize after a crash
First, call 911 or seek emergency care when serious symptoms or the impact warrant it. Follow discharge instructions and arrange recommended follow-up. Avoid driving if dizziness, confusion, pain, or medication makes it unsafe. Keep a clear record of symptoms and medical guidance for your own care continuity.
This page cannot tell you whether you are medically cleared. When in doubt after a meaningful impact, contact an appropriate medical professional before scheduling routine care.
A musculoskeletal evaluation in context
We review the collision, body position, symptom onset, prior conditions, medications, and current limitations. A focused examination may assess comfortable motion, strength, sensation, reflexes, coordination, and relevant joints or soft tissues. We consider whether imaging, primary care, urgent care, or specialist referral is more appropriate.
Bring any discharge instructions or existing imaging reports through the clinic’s approved secure process when requested. That context can reduce duplicated testing and help keep recommendations consistent with restrictions already given by another clinician.
Symptoms are not diagnoses. We will not assume every post-collision complaint is whiplash or that chiropractic care is suitable before screening.
Care that adapts to the stage of recovery
For a suitable non-emergency presentation, recommendations may include selected hands-on care, comfortable movement, exercises, and practical activity guidance. The plan should reflect symptom irritability, health history, and changing function. Progress is monitored, and new neurological, concussion-like, or systemic concerns prompt reassessment or referral.
Medication, physical therapy, imaging, or specialist care may also be appropriate. We do not ask patients to avoid medically indicated care or claim that one profession is universally superior.
Health care is separate from claim advice
Ocean Chiropractic Center can document the care it actually provides, but this page makes no representation about fault, claim value, attorney referrals, liens, reimbursement, coverage, or whether an insurer will pay. Ask the relevant insurer or qualified legal professional about those matters. Clinical recommendations should be based on health needs.
Emergency warning signs
Call 911 for loss of consciousness, worsening severe headache, repeated vomiting, seizure, confusion, slurred speech, unusual drowsiness, unequal pupils, major weakness or numbness, breathing difficulty, or chest or abdominal pain. Severe spinal pain, inability to walk safely, or signs of major limb injury after the collision also need urgent medical evaluation.
